List of Points of Interest in this Tour

In this tour, you will find a wide range of fascinating sites and statues.

  1. The Beamsville Elephant Family is a pair of life-sized elephants on the side of the road which can be seen by travellers on the QEW in Beamsville. Once part of a larger family group, these two now have only each other to keep them company.

  2. Only minutes away from the elephants, La Grande Hermine is another site that can be seen from the QEW. This old ship has an incredible history, and famously serves as the unofficial marker to the City of St. Catharines.

  3. Gerry the Giraffe is a huge metal statue that sits on the top of a welding company. Although he is easily recognized by St. Catharines residents, most do not know his interesting history.

  4. Handmade and hand-painted, the Tin Man is another great statue found on the side of the road in Pelham. He has very cute features, and provides a fun spot to stop on your road trips.

  5. The Comfort Maple Tree is the oldest standing maple tree in Canada. Although this site may be a little more difficult to find, it is an awesome piece of natural history in the Niagara region.

  6. The Allanburg Giant is described perfectly by his name - he is a 20 foot tall fiberglass statue that sits on the corner of Highway 406 and Highway 20 in Allanburg.

  7. As cute as he is nostalgic, the Yogi Bear statue waves to visitors as they pass him on the QEW in Niagara Falls, and greets campers arriving at Jellystone Park Camp Resort.

  8. The Tomato Truck sits on the side of Stanley Ave in Niagara Falls, advertising the restaurant 'Zappi's Pizza and Pasta.' This giant mobile tomato is a wonderfully fun site to check out when you need to grab some dinner.

  9. Every chocolate lover must check out the giant Hershey Bar statue, complete with a giant Hershey's Kiss on the roof of the building to compliment it.

  10. Lastly, the Floral Clock is a giant garden that also serves as a working timepiece. The site is complete with a beautiful park, a fish pond moat, and a bell tower that chimes every quarter hour.
