The Old Fire Hall, one of the most distinct buildings in downtown Thorold, was designed by architect John Latshaw in 1878, constructed with red and yellow brick. It was used as a fire station from 1878 until 1964, when the fire department relocated to Towpath Street. The most distinctive feature of the Old Fire Hall is the bell tower at the top. Today the Old Fire Hall has been repurposed as office space for a clothing company called "Post Office by Shannon Passero".
Not only did the Old Fire Hall serve as a fire station, but also doubled as a police station, as well as having a jail in the basement of the building.
The corporate office of "Post Office by Shannon Passero" has been at the Old Fire Hall since 2003. The Post Office is a Canadian fashion boutique and design house owned by Shannon Passero, who has been a fashion designer all over North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia since 1998.
