If you are interested in seeing this attraction close up, click below for detailed instructions to its location! Once you arrive, you can carefully park on the side of the road, or pull into the short driveway beside the tin man.
Although this statue is quite interesting, the Effingham Tin Man is not very well-known amongst tourists or even locals. He is found on Effingham Street in Pelham, between Sixteen Road and Roland Road. While this area is quite deep in the country, there are still quite a few things to do, and it is a beautiful place to drive.
The Tin Man itself is handmade, and stands at about 8 feet tall with lots of intricate and cute details. The Tin Man is holding a small axe, wearing a white glove on one hand, and has a cutout of a heart on his left side. He also has a hand-painted face and an inverted funnel as a hat. The statue sits on someone's front lawn without any signs or information, so the history of this fascinating statue is unknown.
Although this statue is located in a rural area, there are still several more fun activities just minutes away. Just down the street is a family-run sugar bush called White Meadows Farm, where you can discover how maple syrup is made and taste some of their delicious maple treats. Find their website here!
Close to the Tin Man are the forests and trails of Short Hills Provincial Park. The parking lot is off Roland Road (visible from the Tin Man). At the Park, you can go hiking, visit two beautiful waterfalls, and enjoy the scenery on wheelchair accessible trails. Find more information about this site on the Ontario Parks website here!
The buildings behind the tin man statue are not part of a business, but are rather someone's home and personal property.
When viewing this attraction, please be respectful of the private property boundaries and do not not go beyond the fence.
