Free Outdoor Swimming in Niagara 3 - FH Leslie Park

Welcome to FH Leslie Park!

Isn't this what summer should look like? A clear blue pool, bright green grass, and a rainbow welcoming you to a beautiful park in Niagara Falls. This photo gives you pool-side view of the pool during operating hours in the summer (July / August).

The front door is covered by the grey sheet during the off-season. Inside, you will find the lifeguard office, and change rooms that are accessible for all park patrons. The bright-coloured mural will ensure you don't accidentally drive by.

From here, you can see almost everything in the park. A playground complete with slides, a splash pad, and the backside of the pool area. This park will ensure that any children that come are kept entertained!

A view from the pool, nice and refreshing on a hot summer day. Feels even better since it didn't cost a thing.

About the Area

From this vantage point, the entire length of the pool facility is visible. There is free parking on the opposite of the pool building, with the splash pad and park located on the right hand side.

A local painter added a mural to the pool-side of the building in 2015. This mural shows Niagara Falls being overrun with jungle creatures, a fun-interpretation of life in Niagara Falls that creates a more colourful atmosphere in the park.

Recreational Features

FH Leslie Park is mostly operational between the months of May until September. The outdoor facilities only function during this time. There are many amenities available in the park to keep yourself, friends and family busy whenever you visit.

Splash Pad - Operational during the same months as the pool between 9:00am-8:00pm, perfect for all children.

FH Leslie Pool - A 35-by -15 metre pool, the largest in the city, this pool is very popular with locals. There are changing areas complete with showers and soap for all patrons. There is also a separate accessible change room for any patrons using walkers, and wheelchairs. First-aid services and public bathrooms are available during pool operating hours (12:00-8:00pm).

Playground - Available during all months, the play set features swings (child and infant), a fireman's pole, and slides.

Picnic area - A paved, accessible pathway is visible throughout the entirety of the park giving you access to all park benches, and picnic tables throughout the park area. Note: No open flames are allowed on city property.

Free parking - The park has a large parking area free of charge. During peak months, the parking lot meets capacity very early during the day, though surrounding streets are available for parking as well.

The splash pad is a blast, but make sure you read the rules to make sure everyone is having a good, safe time in the park!

This is the free parking area for the park. The lot is very large, but if you plan to visit in the summer, the parking lot will be very busy.

Accessiblilty

The City of Niagara Falls prides this location as being the most accessible outdoor pool in the city. The park has a paved pathway for any vehicles to use, as well as extra seating areas throughout the park. The pool has a separate accessible wheelchair entrance from the other change room areas to accommodate for patrons using wheelchairs, walkers, or any other assistive device.

This plaque is found in front of the pool building entrance. The plaque gives thanks to Mr. F.H. Leslie, a former newspaper publisher, for his contribution to the park and pool. This small plaque gives visitors the knowledge of when and why this park was created.
