There are common paranormal experiences that occur in the basement. It is believed a lady by the name of Nancy Kerr is the resident ghost. There have been many instances in which she has messed around with the crew members while they get ready for their shifts or are setting up for performances.

The theatre was built in 1915 for entertainment of the troops who were training in the town. The theatre was converted from a movie theatre into a play only theatre when the Shaw Festival took it over in the 1980s.

This theater is owned and operated by the Shaw Festival
