The Town & Country Plaza was built in 1955. Anchored to the west by the A&P Grocery Store, some of the other early tenants were Montgomery's Pharmacy, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Terry Lea Sportswear, Kenny's Bakery, and Tot to Teen Children's Wear.
By 1960, a Brewer's Retail outlet and an office complex had been constructed on the north side of the complex, giving the plaza a similar appearance to today.
The Plaza has undergone various expansions and renovations throughout the years. A&P was later enlarged to almost twice its original size before locating to a new building on Montrose Road. Montgomery's Pharmacy became a Shoppers Drug Mart, which relocated to the area formerly occupied by the A&P. The drug store is the only one of the original businesses still operating in the plaza.
Other more recent tenants have included the Stamford branch of the Niagara Falls Public Library, TD Bank, and Global Pet Foods.
Town and Country Plaza continues to serve the Niagara Falls community as a popular retail destination.
