White Water Walk is a self guided boardwalk that runs along some of the world's strongest rapids in the Niagara River. Visitors will take an elevator and walk a tunnel down underground to emerge into the intense rushing water experience all while learning about the nearby water systems and local wildlife along the way. Rule 4 in the Ingredients of Heritage Interpretation emphasizes the need for respect and the following of guidelines, essential to the safety of patrons during this experiences.

Despite how violent and ferocious the rapids are, a few daredevils have attempted to cross them. Many have died but there have been some survivors. The boardwalk features a little bit of history on the few people who have tried to brave the waters and their tales. Despite the survival rate, these waters are extremely dangerous and crossing should never be attempted. The image below features some of the daredevils and their stories.
This location features a self-guided tour along a quarter mile boardwalk following the shoreline of North America's largest series of standing waves and the Niagara River's Class 6 white-water rapids. There are also a handful of viewing platforms along the boardwalk that put visitors right at the river's edge where they might get a little splash from the rushing rapids.

The White Water Walk is a very important experience that's part of the Niagara Parks Commission because it offers the closest possible step to some of the world's strongest rapids. This is an experience like no other as visitors can literally step down onto platforms and feel the rushing waters themselves. It's things like this that stay in memories forever while also learning about the tragedies and triumphs of these waters, local wildlife that can be seen here, and also the part that the rapids play in the surrounding ecosystem.
