Then: Norton Company

There were rows of small residential cottages built for workers at the Norton plant. The dirt road is now the Chippawa Parkway. Newly planted maple trees are visible, ca. 1935.

The Norton Company has been part of life in Chippawa since 1910. Originally attracted to the area by the plentiful supply of electricity and water, the company once employed more than 700 people.

Now: Saint-Gobain Ceramic Materials

Now known as Saint-Gobain Ceramic Materials, it is still among Chippawa's largest employers.
